Paradise Leis was founded in 2013 in Honolulu, Hawai‘i by two local friends, Derek Kaho`ohanohano Kondo and Brent Young, who grew up together with a shared love for their island home. Paradise Leis began with a simple belief — that giving a lei is one of the purest ways to share love and aloha.

As Derek, a part Native Hawaiian, and Brent, who grew up in Hawai‘i, both experienced from a young age how giving a lei could touch hearts. In Hawai‘i, celebrations often begin with a lei and a hug — a beautiful expression of aloha shared with your ʻohana. Together, Derek and Brent set out to keep that tradition alive and make lei giving more accessible for every occasion.
